James Keach

James Keach, born on December 7, 1947, is an American actor and filmmaker. Hailing from Savannah, Georgia, he is the younger brother of Stacy Keach and son of Stacy Keach Sr., both renowned actors in the industry. Keach's journey in the acting world started by acquiring an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, which was followed by a M.F.A. from the prominent Yale School of Drama. As a result of such comprehensive training, Keach not only became proficient in acting but also established himself as a classically trained Shakespearean actor. While Keach is best known as a producer and director, he has made a mark as an actor as well. His most memorable role dates back to 1980 when he portrayed Jesse James in The Long Riders, a film he took part in writing and producing. This performance intrigued famous country singer Johnny Cash, leading to Keach's involvement in developing the biographical film Walk the Line. Moreover, he had multiple supporting roles in renowned films such as National Lampoon's Vacation, The Razor's Edge, and Wildcats. Not to forget his leading role in the 1985 comedy, Moving Violations. Keach expanded his directing horizon in TV series too, serving as the director of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman starring Jane Seymour. His most recent works incorporate producing and directing Waiting for Forever and Blind Dating, and winning a Grammy for producing the Linda Ronstadt documentary, The Sound of My Voice. He was also awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2010.
