Janel Parrish

Janel Meilani Parrish Long, widely known as Janel Parrish, is an American actress and singer born on October 30, 1988. Her career blossomed when she starred as Mona Vanderwaal in the mystery-drama television series Pretty Little Liars and its spinoff Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, garnering significant recognition. Parrish also depicted Margot Covey in the To All the Boys film series, and Young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Misérables. Additionally, she showed her comedic charms as Jade in the teen comedy film Bratz. Parrish finished third on the tenth season of Fox's The Masked Singer in 2023. Born and raised in Hawai, Parrish moved to California as a teenager to advance her career whilst offering her skills in acting, singing, tap and jazz dance. Burgeoning from her initial performances in local theatre productions and talent shows, Parrish's acting breakthrough came when she starred as Young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Misérables. At the age of 14, she, along with her family, relocated to Burbank, Los Angeles to pursue professional opportunities in the entertainment industry. She played prominent roles in various television shows and films, notably, NBC's action series Baywatch, Disney's Geppetto and The WB's The O'Keefes. As a singer, Parrish won a statewide singing competition at the age of eight in Hawaii, she led the girl group, Impulse and had a solo career signing to Geffen Records. Parrish broadened her repertoire as a lead singer, and songwriter making significant contributions to the Bratz soundtrack and co-writing songs such as 'Heart Made of Stone' and 'Senseless'. Being a versatile artist, Parrish competed on the 19th season of Dancing with the Stars, reaching the final and finishing in third place.
