Jason R. Reitman (born October 19, 1977) is a renowned Canadian-American filmmaker most significantly recognized for directing the films such as Thank You for Smoking (2005), Juno (2007), Up in the Air (2009), Young Adult (2011), Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), and Saturday Night (2024). His accolades include one Grammy Award, one Golden Globe, and four Academy Award nominations, two of which were for Best Director. Reitman is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States and often collaborates with screenwriter Diablo Cody. Being born to an actress mother and a Slovak-Jewish film director father, Jason was brought up experiencing the film set atmosphere.
