Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, a Canadian actor, model, and television personality, gained widespread recognition for his role as Jay in the Lifetime dark comedy-drama series, Unreal (2015–2018). He is also known for his role as one of the primary judges on the first season of Canada's Drag Race (2020). Bowyer-Chapman was born on October 21, 1984, in Edmonton, Alberta, adopting both of his parents' last names. His early years were spent in the small town of Rimbey, considered by locals as the 'Texas of the north.' His upbringing in this racially homogeneous town as a biracial gay man presented unique challenges, which he courageously navigated. Bowyer-Chapman began travelling as a model at age 15, venturing as far as Europe and South Africa. However, at age 21, he decided to focus on acting, relocating to Vancouver to pursue his dreams. His move to New York seven years later further accelerated his acting career. Bowyer-Chapman's career not only spans acting but also modeling, marked by shoots for brands such as Levi's and American Apparel. He made his acting debut in the film, Shock to the System (2006). Also, he has featured in many television series, including the critically acclaimed Lifetime series, Unreal. He further widened his popularity by judging the inaugural season of Canada's Drag Race.
