What's After the Movie
**Joe Mantegna** is an acclaimed American actor with a career spanning over five decades. Born Joseph Anthony Mantegna on November 13, 1947, in Chicago, he began his career on stage in the 1969 Chicago production of the musical Hair. A Tony award winner, he delivered a stellar performance as Richard Roma in the first American productions of David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize–winning play Glengarry Glen Ross. Numerous collaborations with Mamet followed, premiering works such as A Life in the Theatre, The Disappearance of the Jews, and Speed-the-Plow on Broadway. Mantegna directed a lauded production of Mamet's Lakeboat, which had a successful theatrical run in Los Angeles, and later filmed its movie version. In film and on television, Mantegna has been a part of several box office hits including Three Amigos (1986), The Godfather Part III (1990), Forget Paris (1995), and Up Close and Personal (1996). Since 2007, he starred as FBI Supervisory Special Agent David Rossi in the CBS television series Criminal Minds. Mantegna has also provided his voice for the animated series The Simpsons since 1991, where he voices mob boss Fat Tony. A lifetime achievement awardee at the Los Angeles Italian Film Festival, he continues to contribute to the media industry as an executive producer, director, and narrator for various projects.
