**Jürgen Prochnow** is a versatile German actor who was born on 10 June, 1941 in Berlin. He elevated to international prominence with the heartfelt portrayal of the U-boat Commander in the war film, *Das Boot (1981)*. The rich tapestry of his acting career comprises remarkable roles in *The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum (1975)*, *Dune (1984)*, *Beverly Hills Cop II (1987)*, *In the Mouth of Madness (1994)*, *The English Patient (1996)*, *Air Force One (1997)* and *The Da Vinci Code (2006)*. He also performed memorably in TV series, *24 (2010)*, as Sergei Bazhaev. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards including the Goldene Kamera, Bavarian Film Awards, and the Bambi Award. His career also encompasses his voiceover works like dubbing for Sylvester Stallone's in the German version of Rocky (1976) and Rocky II (1979). He married for the third time to actress Verena Wengler in 2015. In an unfortunate incident, his former partner Antonia Reininghaus took their 7-year-old daughter's life.
