Kana Hanazawa

Kana Hanazawa (花澤 香菜, Hanazawa Kana), borne on February 25, 1989, is a prolific Japanese actress and singer who began her acting career in kindergarten. Since making her debut in 2003, she has accumulated numerous film and television credits. Primarily, she's known for her work in the anime industry, having won the Seiyu Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015 and scored three victories at the Newtype Anime Awards in 2015, 2017, and 2018. Her first single, an anime song titled 'Hoshizora Destination,' was released on April 25, 2012, with the Aniplex/Sony Music Entertainment Japan label. Hanazawa made her mark as a voice actress when she went to university in 2007, providing the voice for renowned characters in popular anime series such as 'Kobato.,' 'Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor,' 'Bakemonogatari,' 'Angel Beats,' and 'Durarara!!' She graduated in 2011, around which time she became a full-time voice actress. She also ventured into a singing career, launching her official website in 2012 and releasing several singles and albums including 'Hoshizora Destination' and 'Hatsukoi no Oto.' Hanazawa won Best Supporting Actress at the 9th Seiyu Awards. Her first live-action feature film was 'Kimi ga Inakucha Dame Nanda.' She moved to the Sacra Music record label under Sony Music Entertainment Japan in April 2017 and is currently signed with Pony Canyon as of 2021.
