Kathryn Aselton, better known as Katie Aselton, is a renowned American actress, film director, and producer. Born on October 1, 1978, Katie has vigorously contributed to the American Entertainment industry since 2001. She gained fame with her direction and acting in The Freebie, which made its notable presence in the non-competition 'Next' category at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. Her comedic prowess shone brightly when she starred in the FX sitcom The League, successfully running seven seasons from 2009 to 2015. Katie's talent remained undeterred when she starred in the first two seasons of FX's Marvel Comics X-Men drama Legion. Aselton's early life revolved around Maine where she was born and raised. She was crowned Miss Maine Teen USA 1995 and was the first runner-up at Miss Teen USA 1995. She pursued her passion for acting at Boston University School of Communications before moving to Los Angeles. There she met her future husband, Mark Duplass, and studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Her acting career began in 2004 with a short film titled Scrapple. Later, she made her feature-length film debut in The Puffy Chair. Her career saw her working with big names like Steve Zissis, and she made several television appearances including the HBO original series Togetherness.
