**Kelly Ann Hu**, born on February 13, 1968, is an acclaimed American actress and former fashion model who gained recognition as Miss Teen USA 1985 and Miss Hawaii USA 1993. She made her mark over the years starring in popular television soap operas such as Sunset Beach where she played Dr. Rae Chang and in Nash Bridges as Michelle Chan. She graced numerous films including The Scorpion King (2002), Cradle 2 the Grave (2003), X2 (2003), The Tournament (2009) and White Frog (2012). Her impressive portrayal of China White/Chen Na Wei in The CW series Arrow catapulted her to fame. Hu also had recurring roles in popular CW series like The Vampire Diaries, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Phineas and Ferb, as well as in Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. She notably voiced characters in Young Justice. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Hu developed interests in singing, dancing, and martial arts during her childhood. Winning the title of Miss Hawaii Teen USA, she created history becoming its first Asian American winner. Her career trajectory took a shift as she moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to venture into acting, starting with a guest appearance on the sitcom Growing Pains. Her acting career has since diversified into modeling, TV commercials and voiceovers for video games. Away from the screens. Hu is also an ardent poker player, taking part in several competitions including the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour. She has been a vocal advocate for Asian American rights and children's causes, running in the Honolulu Marathon to raise awareness for Reef Check Hawaii and campaigning for Barack Obama during the 2008 Democratic caucuses.
