Koen De Bouw, born on 30 September 1964 in Turnhout, Belgium, is a renowned Belgian actor with an extensive career both in film and theatre. He commenced his training in acting at Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp, gaining prominence in Belgium for his role as a serial killer, Stef Tavernier, in the TV series 'Wittekerke' from 1995 to 1996. He later turned to film, making a considerable impact with his lead role in the thriller 'The Alzheimer Case' in 2003. De Bouw continued to establish himself further in the industry, playing lead characters in films such as 'De Indringer' and 'Verlengd weekend' in 2005. In the same year, he travelled to Cuba to make 'Koning van de wereld' and went on to work on 'Stormforce' and 'Dossier K.', sequels to 'The Alzheimer Case' in 2006. During this year, he also acted in 'Loft', an original film scripted by Bart De Pauw and Erik Van Looy. Apart from films and TV series, De Bouw is passionate about theatre, frequently working with Jan Decorte in Het Toneelhuis and appearing in Raamtheater productions. Moreover, De Bouw has also hosted the gardening programme 'Groene Vingers' on VTM from 2007 till 2011.
