Lali Espósito

Mariana Espósito, known professionally as Lali, was born on 10 October 1991 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Carlos Espósito, a football coach, and Maria José Riera. She entered the entertainment world at age six, appearing on the children’s program Caramelito y Vos, and officially debuted on television in 2003 with Cris Morena’s telenovela Rincón de Luz, where she played Malena “Coco” Cabrera and contributed a duet to the series soundtrack. Lali quickly became a staple of Argentine youth programming, securing supporting roles in the highly popular series Floricienta (2004‑2005) and the 2006 remake of Chiquititas, where her performances solidified her reputation as a versatile child actress and singer. Her breakthrough arrived in 2007 when she landed the lead role of Marianella “Mar” Rinaldi in Casi Ángeles, a show that achieved massive viewership across Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe, and spawned the teen‑pop group Teen Angels; the band toured internationally, released six albums, and earned multiple platinum certifications before disbanding in 2012. In 2013 Lali adopted her nickname as her stage name and launched a solo music career, signing with Sony Music Argentina and releasing her debut album A Bailar (2014), which blended Latin pop, EDM, and hip‑hop influences and produced hits such as “Asesina” and “Mil Años Luz”. She followed with the gold‑certified albums Soy (2016) and Brava (2018), and the chart‑topping Libra (2020), each showcasing her evolving sound and cementing her status as a leading figure in contemporary Latin pop. Parallel to her music, Lali expanded her acting résumé with notable performances in the Buenos Aires production of The Crucible, the crime‑thriller film The Accused, and the Netflix series Sky Rojo, where she portrayed Wendy, earning critical praise and a global fanbase. Her career has been recognized with six Gardel Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards, thirteen Argentine Kids’ Choice Awards, and a Billboard Latin Music Award, among numerous other honors. Beyond the stage and screen, she is an outspoken activist for women’s rights, LGBTQ+ visibility, and environmental causes, frequently leveraging her platform to support feminist initiatives and political campaigns in Argentina. Throughout more than two decades, Lali has also modeled for major brands, launched a perfume line, and served as a judge on talent shows such as Talento FOX, demonstrating a multifaceted influence that extends far beyond her artistic endeavors.
