Lauren Helen Graham, born on March 16, 1967, is an esteemed American actress and author, best recognized for her leading role as Lorelai Gilmore on the dramedy series Gilmore Girls. She received multiple nominations and won two Teen Choice Awards for her work on the show. Graham reprised her role on a Gilmore Girls Netflix revival miniseries in 2016. Another notable role was as Sarah Braverman on the NBC drama series Parenthood (2010-2015). Beyond television, she has appeared in films including Sweet November, Bad Santa, The Pacifier, Because I Said So, Evan Almighty, and Max. She entered the literary world in 2013 with her debut novel Someday, Someday, Maybe, followed by a memoir in 2016 titled Talking as Fast as I Can. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Graham's parents divorced when she was five years old, leading her to move to the Virginia suburbs with her father. She developed an interest in acting during her time at Langley High School, later obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from Barnard College, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting Performance from Southern Methodist University. She was in a relationship with actor Peter Krause from 2010 to 2021.
