Lucy Clare Davis (born 17 February 1973 in Birmingham, England) is a versatile English actress whose career spans over three decades. From her early training at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, she quickly moved into television, landing a brief appearance in The Detectives, a programme starring her father, the famed comedian Jasper Carrott. Her breakout role came as Dawn Tinsley in the acclaimed BBC sitcom The Office (2001‑2003), where her nuanced performance as the earnest receptionist earned her widespread recognition and cemented her status as a beloved comic talent. Following this success, Davis diversified her portfolio with memorable film roles such as Dianne in the cult classic Shaun of the Dead (2004) and the spirited Etta Candy in Wonder Woman (2017), showcasing her ability to transition seamlessly between humor and drama. In addition to screen work, she contributed to radio drama by portraying Hayley Jordan on BBC Radio 4’s long‑running series The Archers until 2005, and later embraced genre television, appearing as Hilda Spellman in Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018‑2020) and starring as the super‑villain Surge in Disney Channel’s The Villains of Valley View (2022‑2023).
