Lynn Rachel Redgrave was a prominent British-American actress. Born on 8th March 1943, her acting lineage which included her parents, Sir Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, her siblings Vanessa and Corin, as well as her nieces and nephews, known as the Redgrave family of actors, was impressive. Lynn started her career in 1962, after training at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. During her career, she took on diverse roles in theatrical and film productions, earning her multiple accolades. Some of her notable works included 'Tom Jones' (1963), 'Georgy Girl' (1966), for which she received a New York Film Critics Award and a Golden Globe Award.

Lynn Redgrave made her Broadway debut in 1967, and performed in several productions in New York City. She worked with famed directors such as Laurence Olivier, Franco Zeffirelli, and Noël Coward. She made a return to cinema in the late 1990s in films such as 'Shine' (1996) and 'Gods and Monsters' (1998). For the latter, she received her second Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe award. A distinguished moment in her career was when she got nominated for the 'Big Four' American entertainment awards. Despite a rich career, she did not win any of them. Redgrave became renowned in the United States after her television series 'House Calls' for which she received an Emmy nomination. She passed away on 2 May 2010 due to breast cancer.
