Macon Blair is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, comic book writer, and actor recognized for his roles in the films Blue Ruin (2013) and Green Room (2015), as well as his directorial debut I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017). Macon Blair, born in 1974, began his foray into the world of cinema working with his childhood friend Jeremy Saulnier in 2007 on the film Murder Party. After a successful start, he portrayed Dwight Evans in the critically acclaimed film Blue Ruin in 2013, consequently gaining even more recognition. Continuing his successful collaboration with Saulnier, he starred in the 2015 film Green Room. His multifaceted skills enabled him to co-write and star in the dark comedy Small Crimes that starred Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. He tapped into his directorial skills in I Don't Feel At Home in This World Anymore. His directorial debut premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and won the festival's Grand Jury Prize. The film was released on Netflix on February 24, 2017. Macon Blair's creative reach extended beyond film as he made his mark in comic writing and created comics for Marvel Comics and Dark Horse Comics. He released a graphic novel Long Road to Liquor City with artist Joe Flood in 2019. On March 24, 2019, Blair showed his versatility by announcing his plans to write and direct a Toxic Avenger reboot for Legendary Pictures.
