Mauro González — born Mauro Ezequiel González on 31 August 1996 in Lanús, Argentina, is an Argentine professional footballer who has built a journeyman reputation as a versatile midfielder. He began his football education in the youth ranks of Boca Juniors, one of the country’s most storied clubs, where he honed technical skills and tactical awareness that would later define his playing style. In 2014 he was promoted to Boca’s senior squad, making three league appearances before the club arranged a series of loan moves to accelerate his development. The first loan, to Slovak side ŠK Slovan Bratislava in July 2015, marked his first European experience; he debuted against Spartak Myjava a day later and went on to record sixteen league caps and his inaugural professional goal. Subsequent Argentine loans followed, including stints with Talleres de Córdoba (where he featured for the reserve side) and Chacarita Juniors, adding valuable minutes in the Primera B Nacional. After leaving Boca in 2018, González signed for Almagro and later Temperley, where he found the net twice in eighteen appearances, demonstrating an increasing offensive contribution.
