Nathalie Poza Maupain is a celebrated Spanish actress whose career spans film, television, and stage, earning her a reputation for versatility and depth. Born on 7 March 1972 in Madrid, she grew up in a multicultural household with a French mother and a Spanish father, which gave her a unique linguistic and cultural perspective. From an early age she studied piano and ballet, and after attending a British bilingual school she turned her artistic focus to acting, training under the renowned Cristina Rota. In 1996 she co‑founded the influential theatre collective Ración de Oreja (later Animalario) alongside Alberto San Juan, Guillermo Toledo and Ernesto Alterio, marking the start of a dynamic stage career that would run parallel to her growing television presence. Throughout the 1990s Poza appeared in a variety of series such as Hermanas, Más que amigos and Periodistas, and secured her first regular TV role in 2001 as Nerea in Policías, en el corazón de la calle. Her film debut came with the musical comedy The Other Side of the Bed (2002), a commercial success that introduced her to a wider cinema audience. The following year she garnered a Goya nomination for Best New Actress for her role in the comedy Football Days. Since then Poza has delivered acclaimed performances in Hard Times (2005), All the Women (2013), Can't Say Goodbye (2017), While at War (2019) and Rosa's Wedding (2020), earning two Goya Awards, a Platino Award and five Actors and Actresses Union Awards. In addition to her screen work, she continues to be a prominent stage figure, known for her collaborative spirit and dedication to socially engaged theatre. Her career, active from 1995 to the present, exemplifies a blend of artistic integrity, critical acclaim, and popular appeal, making her one of Spain’s most respected contemporary performers.
