Nathan Parsons

Nathan Parsons began his life in Adelaide, South Australia, on June 16, 1988, before his family relocated to the United States, where he was raised in Boulder, Colorado and later Austin, Texas. From an early age he demonstrated a passion for performance, landing voice‑over work for Japanese anime series such as Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water and Jing: King of Bandits through ADV Films, which gave him his first professional credits as a child actor. After briefly attending the University of Southern California’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting program, he left school after three semesters to pursue work in Los Angeles, where he also joined the contemporary dance collective Boom Kat Dance Theatre, contributing to productions that earned the company residency at Santa Monica’s Miles Memorial Playhouse. Parsons’ onscreen breakthrough arrived in daytime television when ABC’s General Hospital created the role of Ethan Lovett specifically for him in 2009; his portrayal of the charming con‑artist, later revealed as the son of iconic characters Luke Spencer and Holly Sutton, earned rapid fan acclaim and a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2012. Following his initial departure from the soap in 2012, he returned for special anniversary episodes in 2013 and 2015, demonstrating the lasting popularity of his character. Expanding into primetime, Parsons replaced Luke Grimes as James in the final season of HBO’s True Blood (2014) and subsequently portrayed the werewolf Jackson Kenner on The CW’s The Originals from 2014‑2018, roles that highlighted his versatility in supernatural drama. In 2018 he was cast as Max Evans in the reimagined Roswell, New Mexico, adding a leading part to his résumé, while earlier guest spots on Once Upon a Time saw him alternate among the characters Hansel, Jack, and Nick Branson. Throughout his career, Parsons has balanced television work with film appearances in Teeth (2007) and The Brotherhood V: Alumni (2009), and continues to be recognized for his dynamic performances across genre boundaries.
