Nelson Lee (Chinese name: 李志傑) is a Taiwanese-Canadian actor, born on October 16, 1975, in Taipei, Taiwan and raised in Canada. He made a name for himself by portraying well-known characters such as Senator Hamato Xiono in Ahsoka, and Dragon King in Stargirl. Lee's steep trajectory within the film industry began after his acting studies at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts based in New York City. Some of his earliest acting roles include his appearances in two episodes of Oz (2002), as inmate Li Chen, and his involvement across the Law & Order franchise. His skillset is not only limited to television but spans live-action adaptations and dystopian thrillers. In 2020, his talent led him to be cast as Dragon King in Stargirl and to star as The Chancellor in Disney's live-action adaptation of Mulan. In 2023, he landed two significant roles: Senator Hamato Xiono in Ahsoka and chef Emile Shao in Good Trouble. Following that success, in 2024, he went on to portray the character of Hong Konger journalist Tony in Alex Garland's dystopian thriller Civil War. Lee's career is defined by his versatility and impressive ability to immerse into different roles, whether they involve orchestrating a kitchen or leading a political debate as a senator.
