Oona Chaplin

Oona Castilla Chaplin, born on 4 June 1986, is a multi-talented Spanish-Swiss-British actress notable for her roles in several high-profile TV series and films. She is well-recognized for her performance as Talisa Maegyr in the HBO series Game of Thrones, Kitty Trevelyan in the BBC drama The Crimson Field, and Zilpha Geary in the series Taboo. Oona was born in Madrid to English-American actress Geraldine Chaplin and Chilean cinematographer Patricio Castilla. A member of the famous Chaplin family, she is the granddaughter of iconic English filmmaker and actor Charlie Chaplin, and great-granddaughter of Irish-American playwright Eugene O'Neill. Oona's early life was predominantly spent in Spain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Cuba. She began dancing ballet, salsa, and flamenco at a young age. Oona received a drama scholarship to Gordonstoun School in Scotland. She became involved in school plays and even portrayed her grandfather in an adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Oona graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2007. **Post graduation, Oona began her career in the British and Spanish short and feature films.
