PJ Harvey

Polly Jean Harvey, known professionally as PJ Harvey, is an English singer‑songwriter whose career spans over three decades, marked by relentless artistic reinvention and critical acclaim. Born on 9 October 1969 in Bridport, Dorset, she grew up on a family quarry farm where early exposure to blues legends like John Lee Hooker, Howlin’ Wolf and Captain Beefheart shaped her musical palate; she later absorbed the avant‑garde flair of Patti Smith and Siouxsie Sioux, forging a unique blend of alternative rock, punk blues, art‑rock and avant‑rock.
