Poorna Jagannathan is an American actress and producer of Indian descent, noted for her roles in the HBO miniseries The Night Of and Netflix's Never Have I Ever. Born in Tunis, Tunisia to Indian diplomat parents, she grew up in various countries including Pakistan, Ireland, India, Brazil, and Argentina, and is multi-lingual. Prior to her acting career, she spent 15 years in advertising, working for several agencies before starting her own consultancy, Cowgirls & Indians. She's had recurring roles in Big Little Lies, Better Call Saul, and Ramy, and has received critical acclaim for her role in Hindi film Delhi Belly. Jagannathan was also part of the groundbreaking testimonial play Nirbhaya, which addressed the issue of sexual violence and won several awards.

Apart from her contributions to the screen and stage, Jagannathan has made her mark in other areas too. She was named among the 'Top 100 Most Impactful Asians' in America in 2021 and 2022 by Goldhouse and featured in the top 50 most powerful women in India by Verve magazine in 2014. She has also lent her voice to the acclaimed Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls podcast series.
