Roger Casamajor

Roger Casamajor Esteban is a Spanish actor born on 17 December 1976 in the town of La Seu d'Urgell, nestled in the Catalan Pyrenees. He grew up surrounded by the vibrant cultural traditions of Catalonia, which later informed his passion for the performing arts. After completing his primary education, Casamajor moved to the neighboring micro‑state of Andorra where he joined the experimental troupe Somhiteatre, receiving his first formal training on stage. During this period he toured extensively across Catalonia, taking on challenging roles in productions such as David Mamet’s The Shawl, Bertolt Brecht’s A Respectable Wedding, and the medieval comedy Farses Medievals. Seeking deeper mastery, he relocated to Barcelona to study at the prestigious Col·legi de Teatre and the Institut del Teatre, where he refined his technique and built a network that would launch his screen career. Casamajor’s film debut arrived in 2000 when he was cast as the lead in Agustí Villaronga’s haunting drama The Sea. The performance opened doors to a steady stream of diverse projects: Carlos Molinero’s thriller Savages (2001), Daniel Calparsoro’s action film Warriors (2001), Felipe Vega’s lyrical Summer’s Clouds (2004), and the internationally acclaimed fantasy Pan’s Labyrinth (2006) directed by Guillermo del Toro, where he contributed to the film’s richly textured ensemble. His portrayal of a complex supporting character in Villaronga’s Black Bread (2010) earned him the Gaudí Award for Best Supporting Actor, cementing his reputation in the Catalan cinema landscape. On television, he has appeared in notable series such as Temps de silenci (2001), Angels sants (2006) and the long‑running Fons Sea (2006–07). Parallel to his screen work, Casamajor continues to honor his theatrical roots, starring in productions like The Tinent d'Inishmore and Carnival, demonstrating an enduring commitment to both stage and screen.
