Stefanie Martini, born as Stefanie Louise Martini on October 6, 1990, is a well-regarded English actress noted for an array of interesting roles. Born in Bristol, Martini was raised in North Somerset villages and completed her secondary education locally. After numerous performances in local youth plays, Stefanie decided to pursue her passion for acting. Though initially unsuccessful in her attempt to join the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), she persevered, joining a program at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, before finally being accepted into RADA. She had her breakout role in 2016 as Mary Thorne in Doctor Thorne and Princess Langwidere in NBC's Emerald City. She further rose to prominence through her leading role in ITV's 2017 production Prime Suspect 1973, taking on the character of Jane Tennison, originally played by Helen Mirren. Martini also played Sophia de Haviland in the 2017 film adaptation of Agatha Christie's Crooked House. From 2020 to 2022, Martini took on the role of Eadith in the Netflix series The Last Kingdom. In June 2021, she publicly announced her bisexuality and revealed her relationship with El Wood, an English intimacy coordinator and model, in January 2022.
