Takehito Koyasu

What's After the Movie

Takehito Koyasu

Takehito Koyasu, born May 5, 1967, is a highly respected Japanese voice actor originating from Kanagawa Prefecture. He is closely affiliated with T's Factory, a voice acting agency he founded himself in October 1998. His extensive career in voice acting reaches back to 1988 when he debuted in 'Wowser'. Since then, his numerous roles have made him a prominent figure in the industry. His son Kōki Koyasu, following in his father's footsteps, is also an acclaimed voice actor. Koyasu has also been recognized for stepping in to play many of the characters earlier portrayed by Kaneto Shiozawa following his passing. Notably, Takehito Koyasu harnessed an early passion for movies and acting during his time in junior high school, often skipping school to satiate his love for cinema. This interest led him down his career path towards voice acting, aiming to offer 'three-dimensional acting'. He had his first regular role as Gai, the King Yaksha in 'Legend of Heavenly Sphere Shurato'. However, his early career was not without its struggles, as finding his ground and establishing his style proved to be challenging. Koyasu demonstrated his versatility by playing roles in various projects from being the rival character in 'Tekkaman Blade' to his work in conceptualizing for the media franchise 'Weiß Kreuz'.
