Tomasz Kot (born 21 April 1977) is a highly-celebrated Polish cinema, television, and theatre actor. Kot has built a prolific career appearing in over 30 films and 26 plays, along with dozens of television series. One of his notable roles propelled him to the Polish Academy Award for Best Actor in the 2014 film, Gods. Kot, an alumnus from the ANTA in Kraków, found fame for his portrayal of singer Ryszard Riedel in Jan Kidawa Błoński's 2005 film Destined for Blues. His noteworthy performances also include Zbigniew Religa in Łukasz Palkowski's 2014 film, Gods, which garnered him great respect and acclaim. In 2015, in recognition for his contribution, he was awarded the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
In 2018, Kot's talent was highlighted as he starred as Wiktor in Paweł Pawlikowski’s Cold War, earning him a nomination for best actor by the European Film Awards. This esteemed project garnered attention from the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, New York Film Critics Circle, and the National Board of Review in the best foreign language film category. That same year, Kot appeared in Agnieszka Holland’s Spoor and starred in Jaroslaw Marszewski’s Bikini Blue, a role that earned him the award for Best Lead Actor at the Milan Film Festival. In 2019, he kept his momentum going, starring in the BBC One series, World on Fire, alongside actors Brian J. Smith, Julia Brown, and Helen Hunt.
