Tony Leung Chiu Wai

Tony Leung Chiu-wai, born 27 June 1962, is an acclaimed Hong Kong actor and singer, highly recognized and applauded not only in Asia but internationally too. He boasts many international acting awards, with notable accolades including the Cannes Film Festival award for Best Actor for his performance in Wong Kar-wai's film 'In the Mood for Love'. Not only a prolific actor, Leung has made significant contributions to the music industry, having been associated with various labels such as Capital Artists Music Limited and Universal Music (Hong Kong) Limited. Leung is well-known for his frequent collaborations with director Wong Kar-wai. The duo has worked together in seven films, and this collaboration has resulted in numerous masterpieces and award-winning performances. Leung's acting prowess is not limited to the local screen as he has also made credible appearances in three Venice Film Festival Golden Lion-winning films. Despite his rather tumultuous early life marked by familial struggles, Leung managed to channel these experiences into his acting career enabling him to express his feelings openly.
