Waleed Zuaiter

Waleed F. Zuaiter, born on January 19, 1971, is an esteemed Arab-American actor and producer. His career spans several on-stage productions in diverse locales such as Washington, D.C., Berkeley, California, and New York City, as well as quite a few television and film productions. His major works include being the producer and co-star of Omar (2013), which stood as a noteworthy nominee at the prestigious 86th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. This actor originates from Palestinian ancestry and was born in Sacramento, California, but spent his early life in Kuwait. He returned to the U.S. to pursue his degree in philosophy and theatre at George Washington University located in Washington, D.C. He embarked upon his acting career with numerous productions in Washington, D.C., after which he relocated to the cultural hub of New York City. Here, he achieved acclaimed recognition for his outstanding portrayal of a former Iraqi translator for the U.S. military in George Packer's play, Betrayed. Moreover, he has appeared alongside Hollywood veterans like Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline in the play Mother Courage. Zuaiter's movie ventures include HBO/BBC's miniseries 'House of Saddam', 'Sex and the City 2', and 'The Men Who Stare at Goats', among others. Recently, he starred in 'Baghdad Central' and 'Oslo', earning much praise and accolades.
