**Wendi McLendon-Covey**, born October 10, 1969, is a distinguished American actress acclaimed for her roles in comedic and improvisational performances. Her notable work includes the portrayal of family matriarch Beverly Goldberg in the ABC comedy series 'The Goldbergs' (2013-2023) for which she earned two Critics' Choice Television Award nominations. McLendon-Covey's journey started in various jobs after high school before earning a degree from California State University, Long Beach, in 2000. Post-graduation, she joined *The Groundlings*, an improvisational comedy group in Los Angeles where she thrived until 2009. Her breakthrough came while still being a Groundling, grabbing the central role of Deputy Clementine Johnson in the improvisational series 'Reno 911!'. Over the years, McLendon-Covey featured in a significant number of films such as 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' (2012), 'The Single Moms Club' (2014), 'Blended' (2014), 'Think Like a Man Too' (2014), 'Hello, My Name Is Doris' (2015), and 'Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween' (2018). One of her defining performances was in the film 'Bridesmaids' in 2011. She treads the path of both, mainstream and independent cinema and made a name for herself through a varied range of roles. Additionally, McLendon-Covey has been associated with a popular culture podcast called *Generation Ripe* from April 2020 to July 2022 which was aimed at teenagers over 40 and featured interviews with persons from diverse areas of the entertainment industry and the arts.
