Sherwin David "Wood" Harris (born October 17, 1969) is an acclaimed American actor. He rose to prominence for his role as Motaw in the 1994 film 'Above the Rim' and continued to impress audiences with his versatile acting skills. He further gained recognition for his stellar performance as Julius Campbell in 'Remember The Titans' (2000) and as Jimi Hendrix in Showtime's TV film 'Hendrix' (2000). A notable portrayal that earned him significant acclaim was as the drug kingpin Avon Barksdale in HBO's crime drama 'The Wire' which aired from 2002 to 2008. He played the role of a cocaine dealer named Ace in the crime film 'Paid in Full' (2002).

On TV, Harris showcased his talent in the BET miniseries 'The New Edition Story' in 2017, and in VH1 miniseries 'The Breaks' from 2016 to 2017. His roles cover a wide spectrum, from Barry Fouray to Damon Cross in the Fox series 'Empire' during its fifth and sixth seasons, and now he is presently embodying the role of drug lord 'Pat' in the Starz series 'BMF'.
