Zita Hanrot, born on 7th December 1989, is a prominent French actress. She was born to a Jamaican mother and a French father. Her path to acting began with a brief study of the history of art, but she ultimately decided to pursue her passion for acting and thus, enrolled at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, France's national drama academy based in Paris, in 2011. After three years of intense training and honing her craft, she graduated in 2014. Notably, Zita made her first appearance in commercials such as the French army campaign in 2006, acting alongside French actor Karl E. Landler. Throughout her career, Zita has cited actress Béatrice Dalle as a significant inspiration, particularly crediting Dalle's role in the 1986 film Betty Blue. Zita's film debut came in 2012 in the movie Radiostars, directed by Romain Lévy, where she played the younger sister of Manu Payet. This was followed by minor roles in The New Girlfriend (2013), and Eden (2014). However, her breakthrough role was in the 2015's Fatima, for which she was conferred the prestigious César Award for Most Promising Actress. In this film, directed by Philippe Faucon, Zita portrayed the character of Nesrine, a medical student and daughter of a north-African immigrant, with her sights set on elevating her position in life. Besides Zita, her brother, Idrissa Hanrot, is also in the acting profession, known for his role in the 2016 film Five.
