Jacques Audiard (French pronunciation: [ʒak odjaʁ]; born 30 April 1952) is a prolific French film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is the offspring of the renowned Michel Audiard, who was also a recognized figure in the film industry as a director and screenwriter. Audiard's storied career has seen him garner a multitude of accolades including two coveted British Academy Film Awards, eleven Cesar Awards and four prestigious prizes from the Cannes Film Festival.

Audiard first stepped into the realm of feature films with 'See How They Fall' in 1994. This was followed by an impressive lineup of films like 'Read My Lips' (2001), 'The Beat That My Heart Skipped' (2005) and 'Rust and Bone' (2012). His prison crime drama 'A Prophet' (2009) was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, while 'Dheepan' (2015) won the distinguished Cannes Film Festival's Palme d'Or.
