Jan Komasa

**Jan Tadeusz Komasa** (born 1981) is a highly acclaimed Polish film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is well-known for directing industry-praised films such as Suicide Room (2011), Warsaw 44 (2014), and Corpus Christi (2019). The latter was nominated for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. This recognition considerably marked his career as his works subsequently premiered and won awards at notable events like the Tribeca Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, Cannes, and Venice. Born in Poznań, Poland, Jan was exposed to the arts early by his parents. His father, Wiesław Komasa, is a distinguished theatre actor and professor at the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, and his mother, Gina Komasa, is a music producer and singer. Jan built an impressive film career beginning with his award-winning short film, Nice To See You (2003), through to his full-length films like The Hater (2020). He even had commercial success directing music videos, commercials, and engaging with television projects like the AXN / Netflix cyber-crime series Ultraviolet.
