Matt Reeves, born April 27, 1966, is an acclaimed American filmmaker whose career broke into the public's attention with his work on the WB drama series Felicity (1998–2002), which he co-created with J. J. Abrams. This was followed by directing the hit film Cloverfield (2008), the vampire drama Let Me In (2010), and the science-fiction sequels Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017). His most recent work includes the superhero film The Batman (2022), featuring Robert Pattinson in the title role.

Reeves was born in Rockville Centre, New York, and moved to Los Angeles at age five. His filmmaking journey began at the age of eight when he made his first film directing friends using a wind-up camera.
