What's After the Movie
**Reginald Alan Hudlin**, born on December 15, 1961, is an American director, screenwriter, and producer. Hudlin is famous for his notable works in the movie industry such as **House Party**, **Django Unchained**, and **Boomerang**. He along with his older brother Warrington Hudlin, also known as the Hudlin Brothers, have made significant impacts in the entertainment sector. From 2005 to 2008, Hudlin served as the President of Entertainment for Black Entertainment Television (BET) and has written numerous graphic novels. In 2016, he co-produced the 88th Academy Awards ceremony along other TV specials. Hudlin's debut film was House Party which gained critical acclaim in 1990. He worked as a producer on the 2012 film Django Unchained, directed by the legendary Quentin Tarantino, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Born in Centreville, Illinois, Hudlin's family had a history in the entertainment sector, his older brother, Warrington Hudlin is also a film director, actor, and producer. He grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois, where the family had deep roots. He attended Katherine Dunham's Center for the Performing Arts where he took martial arts classes. This school experience took him and his brother to renowned universities; while Warrington went to Yale, Hudlin went to Harvard where he directed his thesis project, a short film called House Party. This film received numerous awards including first place at the Black American Cinema Society Awards. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard with a B.A. in Visual and Environmental Studies in 1983.
