Rawson Marshall Thurber

**Rawson Marshall Thurber** (born February 9, 1975) is an American filmmaker and actor. Born in San Francisco, California, Thurber is the son of an attorney and pursued his education at Union College in Schenectady, New York. There, he was not only a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity, he also played wide receiver on the football team for two years. Further in his career, Thurber graduated from the Peter Stark Producing Program at USC. Starting his career as an assistant to screenwriter John August, Thurber began with the television show D.C., and in 2002, escalated into writing and directing the original Terry Tate: Office Linebacker commercials for Reebok. 2004 marked a prominent point in his career with hit comedy film DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story, which he wrote and directed. He continued this trajectory by writing and directing the film adaptation of Michael Chabon's novel The Mysteries of Pittsburgh in 2008. In 2013, he directed another hit We're the Millers, starring Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston. In recent years, he wrote and directed the action film Skyscraper (2018), the comedy Red Notice (2021) and is announced to direct a film adaptation of the popular game series The Division.
