Four years after their thrilling adventure in Monte Carlo, Nick (Adam Sandler) and Audrey (Jennifer Aniston) have transitioned into full-time private detectives, although business isn’t thriving. They receive an invitation from their friend, Vikram “The Maharajah” Govindan (Adeel Akhtar), to attend his wedding on a private island, hoping that their association with him will help revive their struggling detective agency’s reputation.
Upon arrival, they encounter a variety of intriguing characters, including Vik’s enchanting French fiancée Claudette Joubert (Mélanie Laurent), his charismatic business partner Francisco Perez (Enrique Arce), who boasts of a scandalous past, and his ex-fiancée Countess Sekou (Jodie Turner-Smith), along with her assistant Imani (Zurin Villanueva), his reserved sister Saira (Kuhoo Verma), and his fierce bodyguard Lou (Myo Leong). They also reunite with their old friend Colonel Ulenga (John Kani), now an amputee after a heroic act during an assassination attempt in Mumbai.
The wedding takes an ominous turn when Audrey spots a cloaked figure lurking around Vik’s elephant. Suddenly, a corpse tumbles off the beast, revealing it to be Lou’s lifeless body. Nick quickly suspects that this is a deliberate distraction, as he later witnesses Vik being abducted by an unknown assailant. With their detective instincts kicking in, they realize they are once again embroiled in a tangled conspiracy, where multiple suspects emerge, given that only the board members were privy to the elephant’s role in the ceremony.
Conversations reveal unsettling information: Francisco hints at Claudette’s harsh prenup demanded by the board, while Saira argues that Claudette isn’t right for Vik. It also becomes clear that Francisco is facing numerous paternity lawsuits, raising further suspicion about his motives. The following day, they are joined by a team of professional detectives, including Connor Miller (Mark Strong), a former MI6 hostage negotiator who sees Nick and Audrey as potential suspects due to their financial troubles.
The situation escalates when the kidnapper demands a staggering ransom of $70 million for Vik’s release, instructing Nick to deliver it to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. As they embark on this mission, Miller escorts them to the exchange site where unforeseen violence erupts, leaving the couple fighting for their lives against the kidnappers. In a chaotic confrontation inside a van, they manage to defeat their assailants, only to discover they’ve been framed for the kidnapping with fabricated footage of Nick depicted as a villain. After a dramatic explosion seemingly claims Miller’s life, the couple finds themselves entwined in a web of deceit and chase.
With the help of Inspector Laurent Delacroix (Dany Boon), they trace the perpetrators to a chateau, where they encounter Sekou and Imani. A sudden turn of events sees a betrayal that results in chaos and a desperate escape, culminating in a high-stakes rendezvous at the Eiffel Tower where Vik is discovered wearing a bomb vest. Just as the tension peaks, it becomes clear that the real menace, Miller, has orchestrated everything from the shadows, faking his demise and aiming to eliminate Nick and Audrey along with the hostages.
In a heroic standoff, Nick confronts Miller, leading to an explosive climax high above Paris while their friends work to disarm Vik’s bomb. Amidst the whirlwind of action, unexpected romances blossom, and as the dust settles, Vik and Claudette decide to elope, rewarding Nick and Audrey with a hefty prize. However, their hopes of a peaceful honeymoon in Greece take a sharp twist when they find themselves in a perilous situation, ultimately having their fortune snatched from right under their noses.
