Alessandro Antine Nivola, an American actor and producer, was born on June 28, 1972, in Boston, Massachusetts. He made a name for himself in the acting world, winning several awards such as a Screen Actors Guild Award, a British Independent Film Award, and the Best Actor Award at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival. Not limited to acting, he also runs King Bee Productions which produced the HBO comedy series Doll & Em and the Independent Spirit Award-nominated feature film To Dust.

Nivola's early life was influenced by his artistic and political family background, with his mother, Virginia (née Davis), as an artist, and his father, Pietro Salvatore Nivola, a professor of political science. He also attended Yale University and graduated with a BA in English. His extensive career started with his Broadway debut opposite Helen Mirren in A Month in the Country and breakthrough performance in John Woo's feature film Face/Off (1997). Over the years, he starred in many films and television series, most notably in The Many Saints of Newark, Madoff, The Company, and a three-part BBC miniseries Black Narcissus. Nivola's career also extends to the stage, starring in Broadway in The Winslow Boy and The Elephant Man, and off-Broadway in Sam Shepard play A Lie of the Mind. Furthermore, King Bee Productions, which he established with his wife Emily Mortimer, produced several renowned shows, further proving his versatility and talent in the entertainment industry.
