**Betty Gilpin**, born as Elizabeth Folan Gilpin, is a renowned American actress best known for playing Debbie 'Liberty Belle' Eagan in the Netflix hit comedy series GLOW (2017–2019) for which she proudly received three Primetime Emmy Awards nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She garnered widespread recognition for her performance as Dr. Carrie Roman in the Showtime comedy-drama series Nurse Jackie (2013–2015). In a more recent milestone, she tackled a lead role in the 2023 Peacock science fiction series Mrs. Davis, portraying a nun battling against AI. Gilpin's acting prowess extends onto the big screen where she has played parts in various films such as the mystery thriller True Story (2015), the science fiction romantic comedy Future '38 (2017), the fantasy romantic comedy Isn't It Romantic (2019), the drama A Dog's Journey (2019), and the action comedy Stuber (2019). She received a Critics' Choice Super Award for Best Actress in an Action Movie for her commendable performance in the 2020 horror thriller film The Hunt. Born in New York City, on July 21, 1986, Gilpin hails from a family heavily rooted in the acting industry, as the daughter of actors Jack Gilpin and Ann McDonough. She grew up in the South Street Seaport neighborhood of Manhattan where she recollects that her family home was 'one of the only occupied buildings on the block'. Having graduated from the Loomis Chaffee School in 2004 and from Fordham University in 2008, she underwent acting training under the guidance of Dianne Wiest. Her acting journey started with guest roles in several TV series before gaining recognition in the Showtime's series Nurse Jackie from 2013 to 2015.
