Born on August 21, 1967, Carrie-Anne Moss is a renowned Canadian actress known for her impressive role performance on both big screens and television. She rose to international prominence following her depiction of the character, Trinity, in The Matrix series—a role that has spanned from 1999 till present. Moss has also starred in several other notable films including Memento (2000) which fetched her the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), and Snow Cake (2006) for which she was honored with the Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role. Other films include Disturbia (2007), Unthinkable (2010),Silent Hill: Revelation (2012), and Pompeii (2014). She's also notable for her portrayal of Jeri Hogarth in several television series produced by Marvel Television for Netflix, notable amongst them is Jessica Jones (2015–2019).

Carrie-Anne was born in Burnaby, British Columbia to her parents, Barbara and Melvyn Moss. She had her career breakthrough while living in Spain, where she played Tara in the drama series Dark Justice. Prior to being cast in The Matrix, Moss referred to her career as non-existent. However, the Matrix series catapulted her into international recognition and significantly transformed her career trajectory. She has continued to garner critical acclaims for her outstanding performances both in film and television roles. Her personal life is just as interesting, being married to Canadian actor Steven Roy since 1999 and being a mother to three children.
