Casper Robert Van Dien Jr., known as Casper Van Dien, is an esteemed American actor with a career spanning from 1984 to the present. He gained prominence for his lead role as Johnny Rico in the 1997 science-fiction action film Starship Troopers, a role he reprised in Starship Troopers 3: Marauder in 2008. In addition to his major role in the Starship Troopers films, Van Dien has demonstrated his versatility across numerous television and film roles, including daytime and primetime soap operas, TV movies, and direct-to-video films.

Born into a military family in Milton, Florida, Van Dien is descended from an old Dutch family long settled in the New York area, along with Swedish, French, and English heritage. After moving to Los Angeles, he landed a number of small roles on various television series and films before getting his breakthrough role. Some notable parts include King Tal in Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus, and his representation of James Dean in the biopic James Dean: Race with Destiny. He continued his successful career with roles in Tarzan and the Lost City, Sleepy Hollow, and Titans, among others. More recently, in 2022, he was credited as both an actor and producer for the series, Salvage Marines.
