**Christopher Jacob Abbott** is a renowned American actor born on 10th February 1986. He is recognized for his remarkable performances in independent films. In 2011, he made noteworthy debuts in feature film and Broadway with *Martha Marcy May Marlene* and *The House of Blue Leaves* respectively. He received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead, for his exceptional performance in the drama film *James White (2015)*. Abbott played diverse roles in several films and TV series including portraying astronaut David Scott in *First Man (2018)*, and other roles in *A Most Violent Year (2014)*, *It Comes at Night (2017)*, *Possessor (2020)*, *Black Bear (2020)*, and *Poor Things (2023)*. He graced the Hulu miniseries *Catch-22 (2019)*, earning a Golden Globe Award nomination for his performance. Born and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, Abbott is of distant Portuguese and Eastern European ancestry, referring to himself as a 'Euro-mutt'. From his early years in a heavily Italian-American neighborhood, he moved to New York in 2006 to hone his acting potential, landing his first jobs in off-Broadway plays.
