Claire van der Boom is an Australian actress whose career has spanned over two decades, beginning shortly after her graduation from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2005. Born on 21 November 1983 in the remote town of Broome, Western Australia, she grew up attending Presbyterian Ladies' College in Perth where she first studied drama, graduating in 1999 before moving to Sydney for professional training. After completing NIDA, she quickly entered the Australian television landscape with roles in acclaimed series such as Love My Way and East West 101, establishing herself as a versatile performer capable of handling both gritty drama and nuanced character work. Her breakout film role came in 2008 with the neo‑noir thriller The Square, a project that premiered at the Sydney Film Festival and later saw a U.S. release, showcasing her ability to hold her own opposite established actors like Joel Edgerton.
