Renowned for winning a Screen Actors Guild Award, his well-decorated career features nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award, Independent Spirit Award, Satellite Award, and four ALMA Awards. Collins made his celebrated debut in acting in 1990, and swiftly escalated to prominence with his stellar performance as a gangster in the crime drama 'One Eight Seven' in 1997. His compelling performances in the subsequent major productions of 'Traffic' (2000) and 'The Last Castle' (2001) further etched his name in the industry. He garnered more acclaim for co-starring as Perry Edward Smith in the biographical film 'Capote' (2005) and went on to feature in multiple hit films such as 'Babel' (2006), 'Star Trek', 'Crank: High Voltage' (both 2009), 'Pacific Rim' (2013), 'Knight of Cups' (2015), 'The Mule' (2018), and 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' (2019). Collins was also a frequent face on television series, starring as Jack Hill on 'Thief' (2006), which garnered him an Emmy Award nomination.
