Cung Le

_Cung Le_ (Lê Cung) was born on May 25, 1972, in Saigon, South Vietnam, now Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Emigrating to San Jose, California, amidst the Fall of Saigon, Le endured discrimination and bullying that led him to take an interest in martial arts, beginning with Tae Kwon Do at the age of 10. He swiftly developed into a formidable competitor, winning a variety of honours, including the California Junior College State Championship, and achieving All-American status in Wrestling. Expanding his martial art skills, he practiced in Vovinam, Judo, Karate, Muay Thai, Boxing, Kuntao, Sambo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Sanda.\n\nLe transitioned seamlessly into mixed martial arts, holding a 7–1 record with Strikeforce before it dissolved. He went on to compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), earning a record of 2–2. His most recognised feat in Sanshou and kick boxing is his International Kickboxing Federation Light Heavyweight World Champion title, with an undefeated 17–0 record - becoming a three-time world champion. Outside of fighting, Le developed a successful acting career, featuring in films such as _Tekken_, _Pandorum_, _Dragon Eyes_, and _The Man with the Iron Fists_. Despite a negative experience with doping allegations within UFC, Le has expressed that his retirement applies only to MMA, and he could make a comeback in professional kickboxing.
