Portuguese actress Daniela Melchior (born November 1, 1996) began her career in 2014, with a role in the telenovela Mulheres. She also made appearances in the teen drama Massa Fresca (2016) and other telenovelas such as Ouro Verde (2017) and A Herdeira (2018). Her film debut took place in 2018 with The Black Book and she provided Portuguese dubbing for Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Melchior was also cast in the comedy drama Parque Mayer the very same year, which led to her nomination for the Sophia Award Best Actress. She achieved her international breakthrough with her role as Cleo Cazo in the DCEU film The Suicide Squad (2021), for which she received a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Portuguese Golden Globes. She subsequently appeared in English-language films, including Marlowe (2022), Assassin Club (2023), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), and Fast X (2023). She made history as the first Portuguese actress to portray a DC Comics character in a DC Extended Universe film. James Gunn, the director of The Suicide Squad, described Melchior as 'the heart of the film,' and her character had the second-longest screen time in the ensemble cast. By 2024, she joined the cast of Balls Up, directed by Peter Farrelly.
