**Eli Herschel Wallach** was an accomplished American film, television, and stage actor from New York City. Known for his impactful presence behind the character roles, Wallach's entertainment career lasted for over six remarkable decades. He was the recipient of a BAFTA Award, a Tony Award, and an Emmy Award, and was also inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1988. Furthermore, Wallach was honoured with the Academy Honorary Award in 2010. He began his career trained in stage acting and ended up amassing over 90 film credits. Wallach and his wife, Anne Jackson, frequently graced the stage together, cementing their reputation as an unforgettable acting duo in American theater. He initially honed his acting skills under the guidance of Sanford Meisner, and later became a founding member of the Actors Studio, studying under Lee Strasberg. Wallach's versatility as an actor allowed him to portray a wide array of roles throughout his career, primarily as a prominent supporting actor. He left his mark in the industry with his debut screen performance in **Baby Doll** (1956), bagging him the BAFTA Award for Best Newcomer and a Golden Globe Award nomination. His notable roles extended to **Calvera** in **The Magnificent Seven** (1960), **Guido** in **The Misfits** (1961), and **Tuco** ('The Ugly') in **The Good, the Bad and the Ugly** (1966) among others.
