What's After the Movie
Eliza Bennett (born 17 March 1992 in Reading, Berkshire, England) is a versatile English actress and singer whose career has spanned stage, screen, and music. Growing up with an older brother and sister, she attended Leighton Park School where her early passion for performance was nurtured, leading to a breakthrough role at age nine as Jemima in the West End production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium. By the time she was twelve, Bennett made her film debut as Princess Arabella in The Prince & Me (2004), quickly followed by the memorable part of Tora in Nanny McPhee (2005), establishing her as a promising young talent. Her portrayal of Meggie Folchart in the fantasy adaptation Inkheart (2006) showcased her ability to convey both vulnerability and courage, and she also contributed the song “My Declaration” to the film’s soundtrack, highlighting her musical abilities. Subsequent roles such as Susan in Julian Fellowes’ From Time to Time (2009) and Kate Anderson in the thriller F (2010) demonstrated her range across genres, while her performance as the psychopathic Kayleigh in Confine (2012) earned her a best‑supporting actress nomination at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival and a distinctive achievement award. In addition to film, Bennett expanded into television, starring as Jules Thomas in the dark‑comedy series Sweet/Vicious (2016‑2017) and later as Amanda Carrington in the rebooted Dynasty (2021‑2022), where her portrayal added depth to the iconic Carrington lineage. Her stage credentials include the West End musical Loserville (2012), where she originated the role of Holly, and she continued to explore music with the release of her EP Late Twenties in November 2022. Throughout more than two decades of activity, Bennett has consistently blended acting and singing, earning critical praise and a dedicated fan base while remaining a dynamic presence in contemporary British entertainment.
