Erika Rose Alexander (born November 19, 1969) is a versatile American actress, writer, producer, entrepreneur, and activist. She was born and raised in Arizona where she got her start in acting, later moving to Pennsylvania. Not only has she amassed an impressive acting career, she's also turned her hands to writing and producing, co-creating the sci-fi graphic novel, Concrete Park, and co-writing David Giles of Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic. Alexander came to prominence with roles in major sitcoms such as 'The Cosby Show' and 'Living Single', winning two NAACP Image Awards. Her roles have spanned drama, comedy, and action, with notable appearances being in award-nominated films like Déjà Vu, Get Out, and American Refugee.

In addition to her acting work, Alexander has made an impact as an activist. She campaigned actively for Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic Party primary. Her personal life saw her married to artist and screenwriter Tony Puryear from 1997 to 2017. Out of the spotlight, Alexander also co-founded Color Farm Media, a company focusing on entertainment, innovation, and social impact which released a documentary on civil rights leader John Lewis in 2020. Her nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Performance for 'American Fiction' added another feather to her cap as an accomplished performer.
