Gabriel Macht

**Gabriel Swann Macht** (born January 22, 1972) is an American actor, widely recognized for his role as Harvey Specter in the USA Network series *Suits* (2011–2019). He was born in The Bronx, New York City into a family of Jewish ancestry. Macht's mother is a museum curator and archivist, whereas his father, Stephen Macht, is an actor. Gabriel has three siblings: Jesse, Ari Serbin, and Julie. His earliest initiation into the acting field was at the tender age of eight, where played his first role in the film *Why Would I Lie?* under the stage name Gabriel Swann. This exceptional performance led to his nomination for the Best Young Motion Picture Actor Award. In the subsequent years, Macht attended Carnegie Mellon University, graduating in 1994, and made appearances in many film and television roles including *A Love Song for Bobby Long*, *The Good Shepherd*, and *Because I Said So*. Macht spent a week at sea filming for the 2001 film *Behind Enemy Lines*. In 2008, he graced the big screen with his perfect portrayal of the title role in the adaptation of Will Eisner's comic creation *The Spirit*. Despite initial failure, Macht and the film gained a cult following. The year 2010 marked a turning point in his career when he signed on to star in the USA Network legal drama series *Suits*, garnering co-producer credit from its third season. His personal life also radiates a warm glow. Macht is married to Australian-born actress Jacinda Barrett since 2004 and the couple has two children.
